1What is Maitri?

Maitri is a multilingual family assistant that helps Indian parents and their adult children manage everyday tasks such as setting reminders, coordinating rides, and managing recurring purchases through WhatsApp and a secure web dashboard.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how it is used, and how you can request deletion of your data.

2Information We Collect

  • Account information such as name, email address, and profile details when you sign in via Google or another supported provider.
  • Contact and family information such as parent and child profile details, phone numbers, relationship labels, language preferences, and family account linkage.
  • Messaging data such as WhatsApp messages, voice note metadata, linked phone numbers, and task-related content submitted to Maitri.
  • Task and workflow data such as reminders, ride requests, approval decisions, recurring order preferences, audit logs, and action history.
  • Integration data such as Google Calendar event details created or managed through Maitri, and status information from connected third-party services.
  • Technical information such as IP address, browser information, log records, and security-related telemetry used to operate the service.

3How We Use Information

  • Authenticate users and manage secure access to family dashboards.
  • Receive and process user requests sent through WhatsApp or the Maitri dashboard.
  • Create, update, or manage reminders, ride-related actions, approvals, and other family coordination tasks.
  • Personalize the service based on prior actions, saved preferences, and preferred language.
  • Maintain records, audit logs, and workflow history for transparency and safety.
  • Detect misuse, prevent fraud, enforce policies, and protect platform security.
  • Send service-related notifications, confirmations, and updates.

4How Information May Be Shared

Maitri may share information only in limited circumstances:

  • With service providers that help operate the service, including cloud hosting, authentication, database, workflow, messaging, and scheduling providers.
  • With integrated third-party services when required to fulfill a user request, such as Google Calendar, ride services, or messaging platforms.
  • With family-linked users where the service is designed to provide shared visibility, such as approvals and activity history between a parent and an authorized child or caregiver.
  • When required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of Maitri, its users, or others.
Maitri does not sell personal information to data brokers or unrelated third parties.

5Data Retention

Maitri retains information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain accounts, preserve audit and safety records, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. Retention periods vary depending on the type of data and the purpose for which it was collected.

6Data Deletion Requests

Users may request deletion of their Maitri account or personal data by contacting us at the email address below.

Upon receiving a verified deletion request, Maitri will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize relevant personal data, except where retention is required for legal, compliance, fraud-prevention, security, or legitimate operational reasons.

7Security

Maitri uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

8Third-Party Services

Maitri relies on third-party services such as WhatsApp (Meta), Google, database providers, hosting providers, workflow orchestration providers, and other integrations. Use of those services is also subject to their own privacy policies and terms of service.

9Children's Data

Maitri is intended for family coordination use and is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to independently consent to data processing. If Maitri becomes aware that personal data has been provided in violation of applicable law, it will take reasonable steps to remove such data.

10International Processing

Depending on the infrastructure providers used by Maitri, information may be processed or stored in countries other than the user's country of residence. Where applicable, Maitri takes reasonable steps to ensure such processing is carried out in accordance with applicable privacy and data protection requirements.

11Changes to This Policy

Maitri may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When updates are made, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
